Hera, a sweet pup, had a traumatic experience after being hit by a car, which caused numerous broken and dislocated bones. Further tests revealed that she was anemic, had high levels of bacterial infection, and was infested with intestinal worms. She also struggled with urination and bowel movements, requiring medication and assistance to ensure regular discharge.

Despite the significant physical challenges she faced, Hera’s wounds were regularly dressed, and her spirit remained unbroken. She displayed remarkable resilience and remained as cheerful as any other pup in the shelter, a true testament to her positive spirit.

Although Hera continues to face obstacles, such as struggling to gain weight and build muscle, she continues to push through with the same tenacity and determination that she displayed during her initial recovery. 

With the ongoing support of the shelter staff and the appropriate medical care, we are optimistic that she will continue to make progress and regain her strength.

Hera’s resilience and fighting spirit have touched the hearts of everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her, and we are confident that she will eventually find a loving forever home where she can thrive and receive the care and attention that she deserves.
